The OneUp Wave Pedals are built for riders who want a "locked-in" feel without having to use dangerously long or sharp pins. By combining two different shapes into a single platform, OneUp has created a pedal that mirrors the natural ergonomics of your foot in various riding positions.
The Wave Profile: Best of Both Worlds
The innovative shape is designed to move with you as you transition from climbing to descending:
- Concave Front Half: The front of the pedal is hollowed out to "cradle" the ball of your foot. This provides the classic, secure feel of a flat pedal when you are standing up and pushing through technical descents.
- Convex Back Half: The rear of the pedal follows the natural arch of your foot. This allows your heels to drop more easily when the trail gets rough, providing better stability through rock gardens and braking bumps.
- Efficient Pedaling: When seated, the convex rear section promotes a more natural ankle angle, reducing fatigue on long transfers and climbs through the Alberta and BC trails.
Durability and Serviceability
The Wave is designed to be a long-term investment for your bike. It utilizes a proven chromoly axle and the same premium bearing, bushing, and seal system found in OneUp’s high-end clip pedals.
- Home Service Ready: Each pair includes the OneUp Pedal Bearing Nut Tool, allowing you to perform a full tear-down and re-grease in minutes without needing to buy specialized shop equipment.
- Lightweight Performance: Despite the complex machining required for the Wave shape, these pedals remain competitively light for an aluminum platform.
- Maximum Clearance: The slim profile and chamfered leading edges are designed to deflect off trail obstacles like rocks and roots, reducing the risk of a high-speed pedal strike.
